Work isn’t just something you do – it’s somewhere that you belong. At BMS, we’ve designed the way our teams work to match the nature of each role, fuel collaboration and support the people behind the mission.

Work that fits our mission

Every role at BMS contributes to something bigger – discovering, developing and delivering innovative medicines for patients facing disease. Where and how you do that work matters. Our four work models are thoughtfully designed to so that each team member can do their best work that makes the most sense for their role.

Site-essential

Built for hands-on impact.

Some of our most critical work happens on-site, every day. Site-essential roles require 100% on-site presence at your assigned BMS facility. These roles – often in manufacturing, lab research, or clinical operations – are where science comes to life in real time.

Site-by-design

Built for flexible collaboration.

These hybrid roles – often found across corporate, commercialization, technology, and medical affairs functions – bring you on-site at least 50% of the time at your assigned BMS facility, with the option work remotely on the remaining days. It’s where in-person connection and individual focus work side-by-side.

Field-based

Built for impact, wherever it is needed.

Some of the most meaningful work happens beyond our walls – and field-based roles are where that comes to life. These roles – often found across sales, medical science liaison, and account management functions – take the BMS mission directly to the health care professionals, patients, and partners who need it most. Regular travel is often essential to these roles.

Remote-by-design

Built for focused, long-distance work.

Not all work requires a specific place – and remote-by-design roles are structured with that in mind. These roles – often spanning specialized functions – are performed from home or a non-BMS location. Periodic travel to BMS sites or meetings may still be required, keeping you connected to the teams and mission that drive our work.

In-person collaboration is foundational to who we are at BMS. Coming together – whether around a lab bench, a conference table, or a whiteboard – is where ideas spark, trust builds, and breakthroughs begin. At the same time, we recognizae that great work can happen in many settings, and we’re committed to giving our people the flexibility that fits their role.
